The Role

The conduct of effective safety investigations is an essential element of the Airservices safety management system (SMS). In order to assure safety objectives are met, safety occurrences and concerns are investigated, and analysed, to identify causal factors. The application of lessons learnt and corrective action from investigations assists with management of the risk of future similar occurrences.

The position will be accountable for (not limited to):

•  Conduct investigation and systemic review services of operational safety occurrences;

•  Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety systems and processes;

•  Work collaboratively in a team environment to ensure organisational objectives are met;

•  Consult and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders;

•  Write concise, logical and accurate reports and use a range of communication media to produce investigation reports.

The Person

The successful applicant will demonstrate analytical reasoning and problem solving skills particularly in relation to operational tasks, processes and information. They must be able to develop and maintain trusting relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, while also contributing to coaching and mentoring of other team members.

The applicant must also be able to work collaboratively in a team environment to ensure organisational objectives are met according to Airservices values of Excellence, Inclusion, Cohesion and Initiative
